Direct Burial or Cremation
Here at Dennie's, we offer a direct burial or cremation service. Direct burial/cremation is a simple, dignified option in which a loved one is buried or cremated shortly after passing, without a formal viewing or traditional funeral service beforehand. Many people choose it because it allows families to plan a memorial on their own terms—whether that’s a private gathering, a church service, or a celebration of life at a later date. A common misconception is that direct cremation means “no service” or “less respect,” but in reality, it simply separates the burial/cremation from the ceremony, giving families more flexibility, not less. It also does not mean families cannot see their loved one beforehand; private identification or moments of quiet reflection can still be arranged if desired. Ultimately, direct burial/cremation offers an affordable and practical path while still honoring a life with the same love, dignity, and meaning.
Includes
Our experienced team will handle all necessary arrangements with compassion and respect.
We will collect your loved one from a local address during office hours and transport them to our private mortuary.
Your loved one will be cared for in our private mortuary until the burial/cremation takes place.
We will dress your loved one in provided clothes.
We will coordinate with the cemetery/crematorium to schedule the burial/cremation at an available time slot.
A basic coffin is provided for the cremation.
For cremations, the ashes will be returned to you in a simple urn.
Does not include
Embalming: As there is no viewing, embalming is not performed.
Viewing or Visitation: There is no provision for family or friends to visit the deceased in our chapel of rest.
Funeral Ceremony: No formal funeral service or ceremony is conducted prior to the burial/cremation.
Additional Services: Options such as floral tributes, obituary notices, or memorial services are not included but can be arranged separately if desired.
